Hello readers today I am writing about JWU. This private university was founded in 1944, it is in four locations across the US, RI, FL,CO and NC. This university offers many degrees and great education. It inspires students to achieve professional success and lifelong personal growth. If one is accepted to the university then they can go to any of the locations.When applying to colleges there are many things one has to consider. For example, ask questions about the college, maybe if they have the degree that you want to major in, or is it big, small, public private, and many more. Personally this school isn't for me, I can't see my self going there. Even though all of the locations are beautiful, the courses that they offer are not the ones I'm interested in. Function vs. Design

Hello readers today I am writing about prototyping and function vs. design. I think that it is important to have both function an design. But if I had to choose between those I would chose function over design. I would rather have something that works then something that doesn't but pretty. In our class pop up store projects, I think that all design should have both because if one is functional but not eye appealing then no one would buy the product. If a product is colorful an designed really creatively then there might be a bigger chance of selling the product. To make hand warmers and scrunchies it's really important for the product to function. When making them workers must be very neat and do a good job, because if not then the rise could spill everywhere or the scrunchies could rip. The True Cost

Hello readers today I am writing about fast fashion. Many times the clothes that we wear now were made by someone else in a different country. Those clothes are being produced for pennies by workers who get paid even less. In order to keep the cost as low as possible and maximize profits, many brands force factories in countries like India to compete against each other. 85% of those workers are women. If the workers dare to demand higher wages, they would be locked in a room and beaten. I think that this is wrong that people should work hours and hour per day and get payed pennies, I think it's unfair. It makes  me appreciate clothing and hold on to it longer or donate it to someone who needs them, instead of tossing them away. I think that there is definitely a need for change, to change the factories conditions, wages, the way people act. I think that if someone makes something it should worth more then a penny. Cyber Monday

Hello readers today I am writing about cyber Monday. This event is a marketing term for the Monday after the thanksgiving holiday. The term was created by marketing companies to persuade people to shop online. The term was created by Ellen Davis. This is a great event, because so many people shop online and this is great because more people can buy things. I think that this even is better than "Black Friday" mostly because you can shop at home and don't have to deal with rude and violent people. This is a great way to get things that you want cheaper without leaving your house. According to USA press release online shopping has doubled from the previous year on cyber Monday. Black Friday

Hello readers, today I am writing about black Friday. Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day. This day is not an official holiday. It has been the busiest shopping day of the year since 2005. In 2014, spending value on Black Friday was 50.9 billion dollars during the 4-day weekend. I think that Black Friday is great, many people can afford things that are on sale, weather for themselves or someone else. Although this is a great opportunity to go shopping for chap it is very hectic and crazy. People fight and are rude during this event. Because of how people behave during the weekend I do not participate in this event, I do not believe that the way people act should be an excuse. Hello readers today I am writing about shopping. Every one loves to shop. Well most people. We love to get cute and affordable things for ourselves, friends and family. When I shop I look for cute thing like a sweater or a shirt, but I don't just buy it I look at the price first, and if I can afford it then I buy it. Effective Product Development

Hello readers today I am writing about product development. Product development is a series of stems that include the conceptualization, design and development. The objective of product development is to cultivate, maintain and increase a company's marker share by satisfying the customers and demands. In orders to do so there are a few steps. 1) Solicit feedback. Ask your self, is the product the right shape, color? 2) Refine your design with simplicity in mind. A simple straightforward design is important. Product packaging should be clean and easy to read, and simple. 3) Don't skimp on materials or manufacturing. To ensure that production clean, create guidelines for every detail. 4) Make sure the prices are right, you could do the math. 5) Don't overstock, not everyone will buy all of the product so we do not want to loose money. 6) Protect your ideas, make sure you have your name or brand name. 7) Consider retailers an communicate wisely, ask for help if needed as well as ask questions. Hello readers, today I am writing about fast fashion. Fast fashion is a contemporary term used to express that designs move from catwalk quickly to capture current fashion trends. The clothing collections are based on the most recent fashion trends presented in fashion week in both the spring and the autumn of every year. The objective of fast fashion is to quickly produce a product in a cost-efficient manner.  I think that most people like cheap clothing and buy them. It also hurts the environment because many people through away the clothes. I think that instead of throwing away they should donate to others and that would be safer for the environment. Fashion and Sustainability

Hello readers today I am writing about fashion and sustainability. Sustainable fashion is also called Eco fashion. It is a part of the growing design philosophy and trend of sustainability. The goal is to create a system which can supported in terms of human impact on the environment and social responsibility. I think that the fashion industry is "behind" sustainability because there are a lot of materials that are needed to make a garment and lots of resources are needed. They combine natural resources with chemicals. While researching I found out that most buyers through away just as much clothing as they buy, that was eyeopening. Certain designers compromise when it comes to sourcing Eco friendly fabrics because they want every costumer to be happy and also save the environment. I think that this problem will never go away completely, it might decrease but not go away, the reason why is because you can't make every customer happy, so want one way some the other, I think that it would be somewhere in between. When I buy clothes I never really pay attention what they make the garment out of and what they used, I just buy it because it cute or in style. I never thought about how clothing can be harmful to the environment, from now on I will be careful what I buy because we only live on this planet once and we need to take care of the planet. Balmain's Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show

Hello, readers today I am writing about Balmain's spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Show. His show was really cool. It was full of color and geometric designs. It was eye catching but not my style. It wasn't my favorite show. It also didn't quite inspire me. There were 80 looks in the show. The garments were colorful bright and flowy.
Balmain is a French fashion house that was founded by Pierre Balmain. Balmain was born in France. The head designer is Oliver Rousteing who is a French fashion designer. He was adopted at age 1. I think that he is inspiration to many other young derringers and he shows them and shows them that you can do anything no matter where you came from. I think he is a smart business person because he is so successful. He is successful through out his creativity he even has his own fashion line. Hello readers, today I am writing about dreams. Everyone dreams and have goals in their life. I am a big dreamer, I want to do many things that seem impossible to do. My biggest dream is to travel the world and explore different cultures and visit different places. I love learning about different culture and going places I've never been. I don't just want to travel just to go to expensive places, I want to travel and help other people. I want to do something that would make others happy and joyful. I have so many other dreams. My other dream is to have my own family, I think that family is important and valuable because they are with you for the rest of your life weather you like it or not. The Fall Styling Routine

During fall season it is important to keep your skin healthy, for example moisturize. You could see how creative people are the way they dress. I understand that sometimes we get lazy and just wear plain clothes, but when we are not then it really cool to see that side of a person. Halloween

Hello readers today I am writing about celebrities and Halloween. These days many celebrities have been really into Halloween. I think that it's cool how they dress up no matter what age they are and it inspires other people to do the same. I think Halloween is fun, you could be anybody you want and no one judges. Even though some people don't go trick or treating it's cool how they dress up and it is interesting to see other peoples costumes and their creativity. One of many celebrities who dress up and go all out is Heidi Klum, she dresses up in the most craziest costumes and you can't recognize her. For example in 2013 Klum dresses up as an elderly woman, and I mean she went ALL out, she had the make up and every detail of a grandma, she was unrecognizable. Why is it important for a company to have standards for quality assurance? Quality Assurance is a way of preventing mistakes in manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering solutions to customers. A quality assurance inspector works for a company to inspect, test and sample materials, parts or products for mistakes. Quality products help to maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty. Quality also influences your company's reputation. A strong reputation for a quality can be an important differentiation in markets that are very competitive. Poor quality can create negative publicity and damage your reputation. For example in fashion business some QA inspector look at the quality of sewing and other little derails like surging or even how the fabric is cut. Hello readers, today I am writing about levels of quality. Quality can generally be described as high, medium or low. It is how durable the garment is. A lot of the times price is the indicator of quality. For example if you buy really expensive jeans they might last longer and be better quality rather than cheap jeans that will last you only a year or so. A great example would also be jewelry. Diamond ear rings last longer that cheap fake ones. It depends on a person if they want to spend more money on a durable garment. Perhaps they might not have enough money to buy high quality clothes. Lets take garage sales or thrift shops, they sell worn clothing. The clothes are not necessarily low quality but when someone wears them it makes them cheaper. Halloween Fashion

Hello readers, today I am writing about Halloween fashion. Although Halloween is not my favorite holiday, I do dress up. Sometimes I put together my own costume and sometimes I just wear store bought costume. Sometimes I am lazy so I don't spend too much time on the costume. I think that Halloween is fun, and people can dress up as much or a little as possible. Some costumes shouldn't be worn because they are inappropriate but people still wear them because its "Halloween" and it is "acceptable", I disagree. You can also do really cool make up that completely transforms the person. This year I feel a little lazy and too old to go all out for Halloween, so I am just going to wear a piglet onesie, it's comfortable and appropriate as well as cute.  People can express how they feel through what they wear, and eat candy. Sewing to Survive!

Hello readers today I am writing about children in Turkey who have to sew in order to survive. In the article "The kids who have to sew to survive" by Darragh Maclntyre, illustrates how young children ages 6-13 have to sew everyday illegally in order to survive, and they get payed as little as $1.22 an hour. That is terrible, it is illegal child slavery. The things that the kids make are made for high-end shops in England. I think that if the US did business with those people I would do everything that is possible to stop it. I think that people and the government should do something about it and get those innocent children out of there and into safety. Those kids do not deserve what they are going through, they should be playing outside and playing tag or drawing, doing the things that a kid should do, experience childhood. Children that age should not be forced to do something that they shouldn't be doing. The world is so cruel. You have to be pure evil and heartless to do those things, and kill an innocent child if they do not do what is not in their standard. That is all I have for today thank you for reading bye.

Vulgar Fashion

Hello readers today I am writing about Vulgar fashion. Vulgar means the lack of good taste, or overdone. This type of fashion features many designers around the world, like Manolo Blahnik, Christian Dior and Prada. Many call fashion "vulgar" because it contains of many different ideas and is expensive, it can also be bisexual. Many people see this as an art form, and many don't. Even though this type of fashion is abnormal it is still shown of runway fashion shows and even museums. Personally I do not like this type of style, it just doesn't interest me. I think that fashion does have to break the acceptable rules of taste in order to redefine it, because if we as people need to push our selves out of comfort zone and explore new things. I do agree with the statement "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I think that every person has their own opinions and thoughts on what is beautiful so therefore they can express that. Hi readers today I am writing about fashion photography. Fashion photography is devoted to displaying clothing and other fashion items. This type of photography is often for advertisement or fashion magazine. In 1856 Adolphe Braun published a book containing 288 pictures. In the first 20th century fashion photographs were allowed to be featured in magazines. I think that this is a creative career, because one can be as detailed or as simple as they want in their photographs. Photography tell a story. I have definitely been interested in photography for a long time and maybe do something with the interest. Winter Fashion

Hi readers, today I am writing about winter fashion. Personally I love winter fashion because the clothes are really cute, warm and I love layering clothes. People can even wear summer clothes while layering them with winter clothes. Another reason why I love winter it self is that I do not have to see other peoples "private areas", I just think that it is discussing and unnecessary. During winter every one wants to be warm so those people cover their part. I think that with winter clothes we can be creative and wear multiple things at once, unlike during summer we want less clothing and wear boring clothes. For example during the winter people can wear cute jeans with a t shirt layered with a trench coat or simple jacket/sweater it makes it simple but cute. Also there are a lot of cute shoes that are available during the winter, like different types of boots. Scarfs are awesome they're not just cute they also keep people warm. FIDM & Business Trends in the Fashion Industry

Hi readers today I am writing about "FIDM". It stands for "Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising" which is located in CA. It offers courses in fashion, entertainment, beauty, interior design and graphic design. Many students that attend get to work with some of the most famous people in the world and design for them. I think that this is great opportunity for someone who is really passionate about fashion because then people grow. This school is located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Irvine and San Diego. Over 20 degrees are offered including International Manufacturing and Product Development, Textile Production and Development, Entertainment Set Design and Decoration, Film and TV Costume Design, Footwear Design, Digital Media, and Menswear. This was really cool for me mostly because I am not sure what I want to pursue, but one thing I do know is that I want to pursue my artistic abilities, and I think that this school and the programs they offer has that. I am going to look into it.

Teamwork

Hi readers, today I am writing about teamwork. There is no "I" in the word team, as many people would say. Team work is a coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a "team". Team work is the key to success in most of life and business. Only through team work we can combine different points of view, to overcome difficult obstacles or challenges. Not only does team work increases performance but it also promotes the development of better citizens and societies. Team work is important in every business, because without other people we would not learn. For example when a surgeon performs a surgery he or she has to have some assistance, to pass the tools for example or to hold something or to double check, this requires teamwork. Although some people may not like working with a team, it is a good life skill to have. Anyone who has worked on a team knows that the only way to do so successfully is by assessing oneself honestly and becoming the best person on can be.

Cover Girl's first male ambassador

Hi readers today I am writing about first male cover girl ambassador. James Charles is only 17, he vloggs make up videos which are popular on Instagram and  YouTube. He is the new face of "cover Boy". In my opinion they should've kept the tradition for having only girls as the face of "cover girl". I understand that they are trying to do something different, but I think that guys shouldn't wear make up, because they were made to be a "MAN", and if a guy wears make up then that image fades away. I am not trying to be rude or disrespectful, it's just my opinion. I think that this consent might encourage and inspire male make up artists to challenge them selves, and that is great. Everyone need someone to be inspired and challenged from, and that's what James Charles does. Even though this concept is great, it is not what I believe is physically right. But I hope that people do get inspired and be themselves and do what they wish and not be like someone else, because everyone was made for a purpose. When people are being them self it makes them who they are and unique.

Jobs in the fashion industry

Hi readers, today I am writing about different jobs in the fashion industry. There are multiple ways you can be involved in the fashion industry. You can be a model, photographer, salesperson, stylist, designer, pattern maker, marketer, retail manager, buyer, tailor, or visual merchandiser. A fashion model wears different styles and accessories to show off the featured design. They are responsible for showing people how the design looks on a real person. Models must maintain their small bodies, exercise daily and watch their diet. Some also travel. Most agencies look for specific height, weight and overall appearance. A fashion photographer is responsible to take a picture in the best way possible. A fashion photographer must have a portfolio. Fashion photographers earn more that a regular photographer, they also travel sometimes too. While fashion designers design clothe accessories, they are responsible for making the garment look amazing. They are required to have a portfolio. Many famous fashion designers earn over 125000 dollars a year and they also travel.

Chanel's Spring 2017 show

Hi readers today I am writing about Chanel's spring 2017 show. Like any other fashion shows, this show which was in Paris had brought many celebrities. I saw a little clip of the show and maybe they tried to use the computer, robots and retro vibes to bring the brand to younger audience. But personally I don't think that it brings attention to younger audience. I feel like it's odd and distracting. It sure doesn't make me in "awe" or amused. I've seen a few other show's and this one is not my favorite. Even though this show is not my cup of tea I think that others like it and they have their own opinions and so do I. Although I don't like the show, I think that the setting and the garment colors go very well with each other. In my opinion I think that they could've done something different with the setting, because the garments are supposed to stand out not blend in.

Alexis Martial and Adrien Caillaudaud

Hi readers, today I am writing about Martial and Caillaudaud, who are fashion designers and were in Paris fashion week. In the beginning of their show, I didn't exactly loved their designs. But towards the end of the show the garments started to look really interesting. Some garments are pale some are geometric and some are simple yet all of them are very unique and beautiful in their own way. I think that all of the designers all over the world work so hard to achieve where they are now. I think that in any job you work hard and there are ups and downs but you can chose either to be weak and give up or stay strong and keep going. Every designers had to start from the bottom and it takes time, dedication, passion to get to the top. People who love fashion get to express them selves through their work of art. I also think that fashion is art because you get to be creative with your designs. Many designers put lots of time and effort into their shows, and they all look incredible in their own way.

What are hems? How can they affect a garment's appearance?

Hi readers, today I am writing about hems. What is a hem? Well a hem is the edge of a piece of clothing or cloth that has been turned under and sewn. A hem allows the edge look neat. There are many different styles of hems. There are even hems that do not require sewing, instead you use iron-on materials, netting, plastic clips. Hems prevent clothes from unraveling. It is very important to have hems because it makes the garment neat and professional, so that costumers can buy them. In my fashion class, I learned how to do three types of hand sewing hems. Herring bone, invisible stitch, and whip stitch hem. To do hems, it takes time and effort to make them right and neat. When finished with a hem you need to press it for the neat look.

Sewing by hand and by machine

Hi readers today I am writing about sewing. Hand sewing can be useful if you are working with delicate fabrics or making a small repair. You can hand sew if you don't have access to the machine. Hand sewing is also used for couture garments. There are different techniques that are used for hand sewing, for example whip stitch, herringbone stitch, or invisible slip stitch. When using a sewing machine you need to be careful and have the right measurements. Patience is very important in fashion and sewing, because if you don't take your time and fly through the garment you can have the wrong measurements and it will look odd. Also it is important to used your time wisely. Meaning show up on time and keep working till the end. I think that time and patience are very valuable in fashion and in making a garment.

Listening skills

Hi readers today I am writing about listening skills. Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in communication. Without the ability to listen messages are easily misunderstood. If you can't master communication skill, you should aim to master listening skill. Listening is very important in life, and can help you to become successful. There are many positive outcomes of listening, you can have friends, it improves your self-esteem and confidence, as well as higher grades at school. Listening is not the same as hearing. When you listen you have to actually pay attention, where as hearing is just the sound. Attention is the most important thing we as people can give each other. There are ten principals of listening, 1) stop talking, 2) prepare yourself to listen, 3) put the speaker at ease, 4) remove distractions, 5) empathize, 6) be patient, 7)try to be impractical, 7)listen to the tone, 8)listen for ideas and not just words, 9)look for non verbal communication.

London Fashion Show

Hi readers today I am writing about London's fashion show. London is one of the most craziest, but also thoughtful places. Its the most creative, the most diverse, the most exiting. The fashion week has been an incredible success. Many designers get to present their vision and their thoughts, which is a privilege. Fashion captures people's visions and ideas. Many people get inspired from London fashion weeks. In every show you never know what you're gonna get. The community is positive. This is where designers experiment. many people say its the best one yet.
I noticed there are a lot of patterns in the garments. Floral patterns are mostly used. There are also gentle colors, like light blues and pinks. Every single design was unique and gorgeous in their own way.

Community servise

Hi readers, today I am writing about community service. I think that community service is important. It practices multiple skills, including collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity. My class had an opportunity to go on a field trip to set up a quilt show as a community service. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend, I was disappointed. Even though I've never done fashion related community service, I've done other things. I do community service every week by helping out with little kids at the church I go to. I've done many other community service that taught me a lot. It is important to do community service because you help other people and learn things like leadership, communication, creativity and many other important skills. Community service also give you an opportunity to develop and practice those skills.

Not just clothes

In my opinion when it come to fashion I don't just think of clothes. I think of hair accessories and makeup. I think that in order to complete you're look you need right accessories right hair and makeup. All of the trends change over time. One day we want a natural look one day we want to shine. It all depends on what kind of person you are. If you are shy you would wear jeans and a t shirt and natural makeup. If you are confident you might wear something that shows off your figure and dramatic hair style. Fashion is not just clothes, it's hair and beauty. Fashion is art.

Hippies (denim, long hair, flower power).
Teddy Boys (drape jackets, crepe shoes).
Punk (ripped clothing, t-shirt slogans).
Hip hop (baggy clothes, Nike).
Hipster (glasses, jeans, beanies, sneakers, ties).
Urban (colorful apparel, jewelry, skinny jeans, jackets, T-shirts).
Feminine (dresses, hats, sunglasses, hand bags, floral prints).

Hogwarts' haute couture: The greatest Ofashion moments of the Harry Potter films.

Hello readers, today I write about fashion in the Harry Potter films. Hogwarts had produced some special styles in the film. The costumes are unique, beautiful, and interesting. Hermione's Yule Ball dress was the most ionic, it was designed by Jany Temime. Luna's Christmas party garment was an avant garde look. In Beauxbatons Academy school uniforms were glamorous. The blue silk dresses with matching caplets, shoes and hat was designed by Jany Temime. It looks like something that would be seen on the streets of Paris. All of the costumes were wonderful and unique. Although most people don't pay attention to the fashion in movies like that, those pieces are pretty special.

Emmys fashion

Hi readers, today I am discussing fashion at the Emmys. Emmys is one of the biggest TV awards. All celebrities looked unique in their own way. This is where they want to look their best, because the whole world sees them. Looking at the garments they all consist of different colors like red, yellow, green, black, blue or white. Some dresses are simple and others have designs. Some are strapless and some have straps. Some show skin and some don't. One dress really caught my eye was the dress that Kristen Bell wore, it was by Zuhair Murad. The dress is very beautiful. It has nice tone, gentle colors and it looks comfortable. There are also some that I did not like, they were just not my style.
