Zippers

Hi, readers today I am going to write about zippers. Zippers have been in existence for a while now. In 1851 Elias Howe invented the sewing machine, he also became "father of the Zip." The modern zipper was invented in 1913. In 1930's zippers began to show on children's clothing. Today zippers are everywhere, in clothing, luggage, leather, bags and countless other objects. Thousands of zippers are produced daily to meet the needs of consumers, thanks to the early efforts of the many famous zipper inventors. I think zippers are great, they act as fashionable decorations or usable on clothing. They are very handy and easy to use rather then buttons where they take longer time to button a shirt or pants. But I'm sure they are pretty difficult to install, which is why we are going to practice in class. That is all I have for today, I hope you learned something, and be kind to others, thank you for watching, bye.

Hello readers today I am going to share my favorite Oscars look. Looking at all the garments the color scheme is very plain, like black, white, gold, and solid colors. Another trend that I noticed is that most of the women had their hair up, and most men wore black and white suits. Nothing really surprising. I also saw a few blues and most women had a matching purse/little bag with their garments.  My favorite gown was worn by  Hailee Steinfeld, it is a high-neck gown by Ralph & Russo. The dress is sweet and gorgeous. The gown contains ruffle trim and an elegant cascading train. Even though it was a little showy, it gave her the youthful vibe that we would expect from a 20 year old celebrity. The back included beautiful 3D flowers in the middle. I defiantly have a thing for floral dresses, I just think they are breathtaking and they are always my favorite. I think it is important for designers to dress famous people because that is how they get recognized and if people see the garment and like it they might want what the designer had crested. I think that custom culture is when a designer customs a look for a person. That is all I have for today, thank you for reading, bye.

Grammy Fashion

Hello readers, today I am writing about Grammys Fashion. I have some favorites and some least favorites. I really liked Jane Zhang dress, it is simple and beautiful. I like the simple design and color, and the texture on the top. Although I didn't like Camila Cabello's dress, it didn't look good on her, it just felt awkward. A lot if the styles were fitted and tight whereas in the Oscars we saw a lot of flowy and more calm colors. I loved Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini's dresses, they are elegant and gorgeous and look amazing on them. I wasn't sure what CeeLo Green was wearing, he dressed up in all gold, which is different but it was weird and I didn't really like it. No surprise Lady Gaga of course had to wear something weird and crazy too, it is defiantly her. I don't exactly like it but it suits her. Jennifer Lopez's dress was stunning, the color was perfect and it molded into her so gracefully. Overall I liked almost all the looks. But that is all I have for today, thank you for reading, bye.

Hello readers, today I will write about Raf Simons who is a head designer at Calvin Klein. He designs with an open heart. Recently he aimed to create a new sort of punk uniform with duct tape that made it elegant. The black tape was used to make pin tucks on the back a pair of trousers and yellow duct tape was screen-printed with buildings from the New York skyline. I think that Simons is great at what he does, kudos to him!  I like his style, because it looks comfortable and simple, yet fashionable. He launched his own menswear label in 1995. In April 2012 he was announced as the creative director at Christian Dior, and resigned from Dior on October 22, 2015. Later he became the new chief officer at Calvin Klein. He is a great designer and defiantly knows what hes doing. Well that is all I have for today. Thank you for reading have a good day, bye.

McCall Pattern company and home sewing

Hello readers, today I am writing about McCalls pattern company and home sewing. This was formed in 1863. In Manhattan's skyscraper there is a pattern making room, where there are about 80 employees, they create about 700 patterns each year for the company. These patterns have been very popular lately. The brand has pretty cute clothes that one can make. Personally I've never bought my own pattern before, so I don't have a lot of experience, but from what I've heard the brand is good. It allows for you to make your own garments and doesn't allow fast fashion. Fast fashion hurts the environment as well as other peoples lives. For a coming up project we were supposed to bring our own patterns and fabric to make anything we wanted. I bought a romper McCalls pattern, and floral pattern fabric. I am really exited and can't wait to make it. But that is all I have for today. Thank you for reading!
